Kid's - Exercise

In the exercise part of the LEAN Kids Program, we’ll show you how to help your child-and entire family-to enjoy the feel-good and lean benefits of getting those little-and big-bodies moving.

Exercise Increases a Positive Attitude

REMEMBER WHAT EXERCISE CAN DO FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILD
  • Exercise increases a positive attitude. Dr. Sear’s knows that kids who move their bodies more experience higher self-esteem and a better feeling of general well-being than do kids who are couch potatoes.

Exercise is a Remedy for Unhappiness.

  • Research has documented the fact that regular exercise releases “good feeling” hormones like endorphins. Fifteen to thirty minutes of exercise, every other day, can help depressed people enjoy frequent positive mood swings within two to three weeks.

Exercise Enhances Life Skills.

  • Active sports and physical-activity programs have been shown to introduce kids to much-needed life skills, such as effective communication, leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, conflict resolution, and goal setting.

Kids Exercise Tip

A Canadian study compared kids who moved their bodies regularly (performing vigorous activity five times per week) with kids who did not move regularly (performing less than two hours of activity per week).

Not only did the active children improve their health and fitness by increasing their muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance, but they also improved their academic performance in languages, math, and sciences.

Like Grandma said,
“A sound body is a sound mind.”
